Routers are responsible for routing traffic between different nodes. They are also responsible for receiving and storing messages intended to an other router or end devices. Routers may not sleep. As such, routers are not a suitable choice for battery operated devices.

A router can be connected with 6 Wirefree devices maximum (router or end device). You must respect this limitation by adding additional routers every 6 Sleepy End Devices to preserve the perfomances of the system.
It is possible to have consecutive routers ("Hops") to relay signal between two Zigbee Wirefree devices. We do recommend a maximum of 6 consecutive routers.
The TaHoma switch solution has been validated with 50 end devices (Max 40 Sleepy End Devices and 10 Routers). This number depends on the environment (Radio traffic) and device types (routers or Sleepy End Devices).
The system will continue working for a while if there are Routers in the system (AC devices).
Warning: Should be considered as a temporary situation.
Any device with Zigbee 3.0 certification must be accepted in the Zigbee network as a router but is does not guarantee that this device is managed by the TaHoma App.
To be compatible, the device needs to have the same Cluster (e.g. Window Convering for motors).
Note: Even with the same Cluster, the compatibility is not guarantee because of some differences in the implementation (attributes).

Starting on February 6th, 2024, the Simu LiveIn2 app will stop working. You will be disconnected from it and will no longer be able to use it. Your automations and clocks will no longer be played.

Measuring the CO2 level allows for a quick assessment of air quality and encourages occupants to ventilate rooms when necessary. High level of CO2 can lead to headaches, drowsiness, concentration difficulties, mild nausea, or even an increased heart rate. OPEN’R provides a reliable and accurate measurement of CO2 concentration.
This is a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) measurement technique that measures CO2 concentration through infrared spectroscopy. This optical technology may exhibit measurement drift over time, which it automatically compensates by the OPEN’R product. This method is effective and reliable in an environment where the CO2 level reaches at least a minimum of 400 ppm for several consecutive hours: at night and on weekends for communal spaces, during the day in a room.
Every 8 days, the device performs the calibration process automatically. No maintenance is required.

The orange LED on the back of the sensor will be steady for the duration of the calibration. Then it turns green for 5 seconds when calibration is complete.

Legrand's solution has evolved and is now using a new API (while their old API Home + Control is deprecated).

Your air quality sensor calculates the CO2 concentration in the environment. The rate in "ppm" corresponds to the pollution level calculated in the environment. The advanced settings of the sensor allow an immediate synchronization between your TaHoma application (notifications) and your installation (color of the sensor's LED and execution of the scenes). If you want to modify your thresholds on TaHoma App, go to the user screen of your sensor and click on the "Advanced" button and then on the advanced function "CO2 thresholds". This will allow you to set the high threshold, low threshold, and interval. If you wish to return to the default values, click on "Reset Default Thresholds".

The steps to follow to configure it :
1. Start in the "Scenes" menu

3. Enter your period of absence. The times corresponding to your departure and return can also be set.

Select your equipment and the time interval of your choice. TaHoma will then activate them randomly during your absence!
Note that you can create your "holiday" scenario by choosing both planned and random actions. Also, it is possible to set up several planned actions and several random simulation periods per day.
At the end of your configuration, you can see the details of your planned actions and the summary of your presence simulations. You can still make changes. To see the summary of your presence simulation, click on “See my schedule”.
5. If you wish to expand your schedule, simply click on "+ Add action". If the schedule is convenient for you, click on "Validate".
6. You can find your "Holiday" scene in the "Scenes" menu.
To modify your absence period and your schedule, click on the "Edit my holiday" button. To delete the scenario, click on the "End the holiday period" button.
If you want to turn off the Link Essential LEDs but keep your security system up and running, go to: Menu > My Equipment > Link Essential > Indicator Lights and deactivate the option. With this configuration, the LEDs remain off as long as everything is normal with the security system. As soon as an anomolie is detected, the LEDs light up again: What do the LED colors mean on the Link Essential?
If your Wi-Fi is unavailable, Somfy Home Alarm Essential still works locally. This means your home will remain protected, and your IntelliTAGs motion sensors will still trigger alerts and sound the alarms. Control via the application and the user presence display are the only things that aren't operational. You can still activate or deactivate the system through the key fobs or the keypad.
I've activated Somfy Around
The Somfy Around community network ensures encrypted and anonymous transmission of your alerts when your Wi-Fi is unavailable. This free service is available when one of your neighbors also has Somfy Home Essential, Somfy Home Alarm, Somfy One+ and has activated the service. Your neighbor's equipment then receives an anonymous Somfy Around message and sends it to the Somfy Cloud so the alert reaches its recipient. Menu > Settings > Somfy Around
The Link Essential's battery guarantees the security of your installation for 24 hours in event of a power outage. You will receive a notification on your smartphone as soon as power is lost. The Link Essential continues to work locally in the event of a power outage. This means your home will remain protected, and your IntelliTAGs motion sensors will still trigger alerts and sound the alarms. You can change the site's arming status using your key fob or the keypad. If you've activated Somfy Around or subscribe to the backup connection, intrusion and self-protection alerts will be relayed.

You are stuck and the Link Essential installation is incomplete because you are getting the message, "Your phone is unable to communicate with the Link Essential." Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. If it is enabled, turn Bluetooth off and back on, then restart the installation process. Check that your phone is within Bluetooth range of your Link Essential. To do that, perform the installation with both devices close to each other. If the situation persists despite this change, contact Somfy customer service.
You are stuck and the Link Essential installation is incomplete because you are getting the message, "Your Link Essential was not successfully installed." When you get this message, retry the installation after a moment. If you are still unable to install it, contact our customer service department.
You are stuck and the Link Essential installation is incomplete because you are getting the message "No Link Essential detected." Make sure the Link is plugged directly into a wall outlet and light up. If it doesn't light up, make sure the plug is properly inserted in the Link Essential port. You should hear a "click" when it is plugged in. Make sure you have installed the Link Essential within range of your box/router. Also check that the Link is positioned correctly. It needs to be upright, not lying on its side. Make sure the diode is blue. If at least one LED lights up, you'll need to reboot the Link :

Make sure the Link Essential is positioned appropriately to connect to the Wi-Fi through the Internet Box (or Wi-Fi router). Consult our Link Advanced or Link Essential positioning tips if necessary.

These applications provide a graphic depiction of how busy different Wi-Fi channels are. If your Wi-Fi network is on a channel occupied by several other networks, you'll need to move it to a less busy channel. You can do that in the settings of your internet box (or Wi-Fi router). In the example above, the busiest channels are 1, 6, and 11. Therefore, it would be beneficial to move the Wi-Fi channel on the box or router to channel 3, 4, 8, or 9, which are the least busy. 4. The Link Essential is the centerpiece of the Somfy Home Alarm Essential. Installing the Link Essential is the first step for any Somfy Home Alarm Essential. It can be installed only from the Somfy Protect mobile app.

After creating your personal account and your system account, you can install the Link Essential by following the directions on the screen in the app.

You will need the serial number and MAC address for your Link Essential. They can be found in the battery compartment.

1. My Link Essential is already linked to my account, but at another location
You'll need to ensure that the Link Essential is not already installed at another location. To do that, go to the home page for your account in the Somfy Protect app. Click on the arrow at the top of the page. This menu lets you access all the locations associated with your account. Delete the incorrect location and keep the one where the Link Essentialis installed, then continue the installation.
2. I have multiple email addresses, and I am using the wrong one to access my alarm
I am not logged into the right account, so I am being directed to install my equipment. I get this error message when the Link Essential is already installed. Follow the instructions in this article: Why is my account empty when my alarm has already been installed?
3. Upon the 1st installation, I get this message
Your Link Essential is new and you are installing it, but you get this message. Contact customer service.

To assign a key fob associated with your Somfy Home Alarm system to a loved one, open your Somfy Protect application and follow the steps below:
If the key fob is new, then select "Add a Key Fob" in the dropdown list, and then follow the instructions displayed on your smartphone.
If you want to assign the person a key fob that has already been installed or is already in use on your Somfy Home Alarm system, just select it directly from the dropdown list. Warning: If the key fob is already in use by another user, it will automatically be removed from that person's account.

On March 29th 2022, TaHoma and Sonos' partnership has evolved. TaHoma Classic app won't support Sonos' new communication technology. For users who switch to the new TaHoma app, the Sonos products will remain compatible. For users who stay on TaHoma classic, the link to Sonos products might be preserved but without any guarantee. In the first quarter of 2024, the service will definitely be stopped.
Regarding your products that are compatible with TaHoma by Somfy app, they will automatically be transferred to the new app.
